Schdief: I will cover sizes of datatypes in one of the next smallish columns on 64 bit Windoze as well.

OK, so here's a something which might turn into a gotcha:

A short is 16 bits.
An int is 32 bits.
How long is a long (on a 64 bit CPU)?

Answers on the back of a postcard... or posted here. Extra points will be awarded to anyone who knows a suitable workaround (I know one, and will post it soon too).
